hooking Direct TV to my pc via TV tuner card

I just ordered a Twinhan 1020a Digital Sat TV Tuner PCI Card. I recently had a Direct TV receiver added to a third room in my home. It happens to be my PC Room actually. I would like to watch my Direct TV on my PC via my tuner card if possible. This would save me a little room and I could watch my shows and do my work on my PC simutaniously. This is my problem: I cant seem to find a way to set this up. I tried running a coaxial cable from my receiver to my TV tuner card and so far its a no go. Seems that I may need to set certain parameters in the software program distributed with the card or possibly need more software or hardware to complete the setup. I'm at the edge of my witts with this and still have seen little if any progress. So far I havent seen a program guide, heard any sound or seen any type of video. This is kinda upsetting seeing as how I have put endless hours into this trying to figure it out. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

trying another option

Ok now I have added a VCR in to convert the signal to what a standard tv output would be but still havent quite got it pegged. Is there a way to set up this card to veiw regular TV channels? If so all I should need is channels 3,4, and video. Is there a way to do this through the Twinhan 1020a TV Tuner Card, if so leave a post and let me know the process or programs in which I will need to do so. Thanks again in advance.

I'm not sure I 100% understand what you are tryin gto do?! It sounds to me like you don't nees 1020a ( a sat tuner card). You need a regular tv tuner card that will accept the output of your receiver and allow you to watch in on your PC.

The 1020a is not the right card to do what you want to do (legally). You just need a regular TV tuner card and run the coax from the RF OUT port of your DirecTV receiver to the RF IN port of your PC's tuner card. Just make sure you match it to Channel 3 or 4, whatever you select on your DirecTV receiver. Your viewing channel selection will be done at the DirecTV receiver and you can change channels via an RF remote or an IR remote extender from your PC viewing location.
