croat,

So the home games that are played for the World Cup Qualifiers, played in Zagreb will be shown?

Can we get a subscription for RTL somewhere??

well just recently Picture of Croatia had shown Croatia - Malta and Croatia - Iceland. Both of the games were played in Croatia. Any games that are played outside of Croatia will be covered by RTL.

No, I think RTL only broadcasts in Europe.

Croatian private TV stations (like RTL and Nova)should follow what Serbian and Bosnian stations do. I seriously don't understand why none of them broadcast outside of Europe.
Bosnian OBN (which is part of Croatian NOVA TV) is broadcasting in Australia along with NTV Hayat.
Hayat will be coming soon to NA. Probably ONB too.

So only Croatian private TV stations are yat to come but I doubt it.
It seriously makes me mad.

croat,

I'm not sure that the games you refer to being Croatia/Malta and/or Croatia/Iceland were shown live.

Thats the key. Are these games going to be broadcast Live on POC now that the subscription will be in place??

I'm not sure there will be a lot of interest here in Australia if there isn't any live content.

I have just checked the program guide for the schedule after the 15th o fApril and it doesn't seem like its much different to what was being shown prior to the encryption.

When will HRT significantly change their programming??

Hertz, those games were NOT live.
It's not possible since their programing scheme is 3x8. You see if the first 8 hourse were live, it would work but thing is that even first 8 hours is not live. It seems they record 8 hours of programming in Zagreb, then they uplink it to Americas and Australia and Globecast records them so they can cut off feed from Zagreb (this saves alot of money). Then Globecast just plays the tape 2 more time. And keeps going over and over.

It sucks but there is no alternative
HRT-America mentioned that they're planning to start real live 24x7 program by 2006.

Based on that croat, there are a lot of people that won't bother subscribing. All you need to do is compare whats on offer from HRT to what the Serbs have and wonder why is that possible.

It is sad to say but the content on the other programs looks better than what HRT is offering.

The additions to the schedule (eg Croatian soccer league) so far cannot justify the expense for subscription given that the almost identical service was being beamed FTA.

If the programming was at least 2x12 hour blocks with more movies etc then it would be attractive.

Can HRT confirm when this will take effect. Waiting for 2006 whilst paying subscription for 3x8 is crap.

HRT-America could answer few of these questions. I don't like it either that there is 4 Serbian station and 1 croatian. Just to clarify that it's not because they're serbian, it's just that I am more like jelaous. Oh well

well gee... if they speak relatively the same language.. why not watch them??? Besides, i see none of these channels are strictly hard, Serbian-only content but have a lot of ex-yu singers/etc. on.

I agree to a certain point.
BK is stricly Serbian. I don't thinkI ever saw Croatian or Bosnian stuff on it. (when I had chance to check it out)

Pink is a different story. As far as I know they show Croatian soap opera, lots of croatian singers. Alot of Bosnian singers too. They trully are international TV. Pink Extra they shows sports too.

As for BN, I checked it out during free preview and I didn't like it at all. They try to copy pink but with just singing. I guess they do show movies, as friend tells me

HRT's programming isn't too bad. Of course it could be better. They already show soccer and handball. All they have to do now is add some movies and series and concerts. Concerts were on last year. Not sure why they're not on anymore.

Last and big thing would be 24x7 programming.

Good Assessment croat....

now lets see if HRT-America can respond.

The simple argument should be:

CAN THEY BETTER THE 8 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING CURRENTLY BEING SHOWN????

I can't wait to see the day when these mega companies that own the satellites in sky lower their sky-high prices on transponder time and bandwith... maybe then we can have new FTA channels like new flowers in spring.. and channels such as HRT can deliver better content.

Why does it seem that C-Band has tons more FTA channels than Ku. And ku is supposed to "replace" c-band. nahuh.. no way for now.

well IA5 is definitelly cheaper than Bell or Dish satelites. As far as I know, HRT used to be on Dish. I think BK TV was there too. There is a reason why they went to Globecast.
Back on Dish Network, HRT's 3hr program was $20US/months. OUCH.
Then they went to Globecast where it was FTA for few years.

I think what costs the most is getting the signal accross the Atlanic Ocean. That's why HRT is doing 3x8. To save money. This way GC centre just plays the tape 2 times and then the new feed comes from Zagreb while GC tapes it, then feed gets cut off, GC replays it 2 more time.

It's definitelly neat and good way to save money but it sucks for live events.
Hopefully we'll see the actual live program by 2006.

yup.
First channel that ever came to North America was HIC (Croatian Informative Centre). It came here in early 90's. First it was on C-Band, then they went with DishNetwork and finally came to Globecast.

Few channels are actually going from Globecast to Dish Network.
German TV will be gone on June 30 and TV Bulgaria is already gone and it should be on Dish soon.

speaking of BKTV, check their website. They are mentioning it right herehttp://www.bktvsat.com/index.php
