Please help a beginner

I have a Fortec 786V3 receiver and a Fortec 31.5 dish with a single LNB. I want to buy and connect the PCI card VisionPlus DTV. My question is: Can I just split the signal from the dish and send it to both receivers at same time? What part(s) do I need to purchase as well?

The answer is NO. But you can slave your PCI card to the Fortec receiver, meaning connect the PCI to the Fortec receiver's signal output. Use the Fortec as a master receiver to control polarities.
Don't forget to turn off the "llnb power" option for your PCI card. If it does not have the "lnb power ON/OFF" option, then use a DC blocker to block the DC from the PCI.
Good luck

Re: Please help a beginner

Thanks for info but can you tell me how this loop out output works.? Can I watch 2 different channels on the Fortec and the PCI? Do I set the channel on the Fortec and this controls the channel on the PCI?
What if I were to watch only one receiver at a time, will a simple High Freq 2 way splitter work in this case? In appreciate your help.
Thanks

Connect your PCI card to the Fortec receiver LNB out. Remember turn off the lnbf power for your PCI. If it does not allow you to do so, use a DC blocker to block the DC from your PCI card to your Fortec receiver.
Yes, you can watch 2 different channels as long as they are on the same polarity (Horizontal or Vertical)
The Fortec receiver serves as a master one which controls the polarities.
Good luck,
Michael
