jofldi is on a distinguished road
Please double check my installation for Vision plus 1020

I am on the final stages of getting my dish to work. Please double check if I am missing something:

Equipment: (Bought from www.sadoun.com)

Vision plus PCI 1020 card
36 inches Fortec dish
Universal KU LNBF Fortec Star FSKU-v.
SG2100 motor.

My data:

My Zip Code:
98033
Location:
47.678597 N, 122.189442 W

The motor and dish’s parameters:

Elevation (Motor):
42
Declination angle (Dish)
30-7.01= 22.99
True South:
180-22= 158
Satellites searched with universal LNB:
Telstar 5, Anik E1, Galaxy 10R, Telstar 7.
Satellites searched with DirecTV LNB:
DirecTV 1, 5.

I have not been able to lock signal on any satellite yet. I have been able to get the signal up to 80% but with 0% quality.

On the software side I have tried the default parameters for the LNB for universal, standard and custom. No success with any of them.

I also tried a DirecTV lnb and I got exactly the same results. For DirecTV I used the custom setting and for Freq1 and 2 the same number: 11250.

Can someone please tell me where to find the parameters that would apply (Freq1, Freq2, Tone burst, 22k tone, etc) for the Universal KU LNBF Forte Star FSKU-v and the DirecTV LBNs?
The manual only says that if need these information contact the LNB manufacturer. The manufacturer website does not have any information about the LNB parameters.

I already went to the drill of setting up the pole vertical to the max with a plumb and pointing the dish to the true south, etc. I fine tuned the dish as much as I could millimeter by millimeter west-east ad up and down. I narrowed the zone in which I know Clarke belt is but I have not have the success in locking the signal.
Also, how does the Vision plus card know that you are suing a circular or horizontal lnb?

I really appreciate all your help.

Jo.

Elevation (Motor):
42
This is wrong. You should set the motor elevation to your Latitude value which is 47.7

The Universal LNBF parameters are as follows:

LO Freq LOW: 9750
LO Freq Hi: 10600
22KHz: On or AUTO

The DirecTV LNBF parameters are as follows:

LO Freq; 11250
22KHz: OFF

I've been using for the standard LNB:

LO freq LO = 10750
LO freg HI = 10750
22KHz = off

Is this right as far as you guys know?
