Programming question from a newby
Yes, Hello all, I'm a newby here. Thanks in advance for the welcome.
My main endeavor here is to see if anyone, I mean anyone at all, knows of any programming providers in Canada. It seems all the program providers I see on the net are in the USA and are not allowed to provide us northerners with C & Ku band 4DTV programming.
I've had a big dish since 1984 and our last provider just disapeared, probably died the poor old man, and didn't leave anyone in charge.
I'd appreciate any help at bringing our system back to life.

Tried that, but all we got was for US users and small dish stuff. Did get a private message from a senior member with a suggestion which we'll try.
If they do or do not provide us with programming in Canada, we'll post the answer.
Meanwhile, if there are other choices anyone knows about, please feel free to post them here, after all, vive la competition, no?

Nice wheels. Yes, I did try but only found a couple who say they do but turns out they either only supply small dish or are US based selling receivers etc. and cannot supply programming to Canada, although I did find a couple suppliers, since I first posted here and only one of which is actually good enough to call back and tell us all about themselves and the other is way overpriced, probably trying to make all the years profit on one customer.
We'll keep trying to find a couple more options before calling it quits for today.
Awesome wheels.....

Yup, everybody's envious of rainman's groovy Cuda.
There used to be a lot of C-band providers in Canada but most have shut down due to limited demand. I found this one; might be worth checking out:

Right on,,,
Hey Rainman, too bad the cuda's not yours, although it's an Out Of Sight ride, ooops, I said Out Of Sight, does that give my age away too?
And to Kat, thanks we tried that link too, I guess it's one of two suppliers we have found so far. Not too many choices here, ah well, I might have to come to the US to stirke up a deal with NPS or somebody so that I can become a supplier for the legal subs at least, since I see a lot of big dishes out there, one has to wonder if they're legal or not, cause if they are, then there would have to be more than one supplier. No?

If you are speaking of the big dishes you see in Canada, I think a large percentage of them are not being used, people have the lsd's and the big dish just sits and they try to ignore it, knowing it will cost money or hassle, or both to get rid of it. Hard to imagine how these programming brokers can servive. The good part of all this is its really easy to get a big dish for free, if only I had more land

The body feels it's age but inside we're all 18, I'l never grow up, although all the ladies always want to change you, I refuse. After all, growing up so far has meant, more work, more responsibilities, less partying, less money to spend on toys, etc. Sides, if we all learn from our mistakes, no wonder we forget more as we get older. mmmm, stuff to think about, no?

purrfect, I knew somebody would get that Outta site comment. I know everybody here seems to have a sense of humor, only in Canada eh?
I really din't expect to have an answer to my programming problems so fast, and I certainly didn't expect so many Canadians here either.
Awesome, Thanks a million, oh yeah and we're all about the same age too. ( 18 right?)
