Did you set the local oscillator frequency to 10,600 MHz? That should be correct for the Fortec LNB you have. Also, make sure you have the correct transponder data entered and tune to an active transponder when looking for signal.

i dont know how to setup the LNB, i read some threadss and tried different setting and cant get anything. I have a fortec star 31' dish with fortec LNBF and i cannot receive any quality strenght no matter what Sat i point at or select. I am getting an average of 69-71% signal on different birds, HELP PLEASE!!! ive been waiting too long to get this stuff and now nothing works. I'm in virgina if it matters.

i still get nothing and i check the transponder setting at lyngsat and their correct, still getting a very high signal but no quality from different birds.
Can from start to finish step by step where i should start with settings. Thankz

Laura, I'm sure there's a bunch of people here that can help you thru this.
1. Need to know your zip code.
2. Do you have a good unobstructed view of the satellite arc? (Do you know what that means?)
3. Describe more of your equipment, not just the receiver but dish, size, the "LNB" at the end of the dish arm, and the cable you are using.
4. Is there a positioning motor involved?
