Set up of new card

No
matter what I set up I have not been able to receive anything that
works c or Ku band. Dedicated computer,
1.73 athlon
1 GB ram
64 meg video card
on board ac97 audio

setup worked fine with Broadlogic

No matter how I set up lnb I get errors.
Fail to set program
22kh error, I don't have it selected
lnb power open error
lnb close error

One time I had 100% sig strength
2% quality

I used Gal 11 for set up
also Amc 3 ku band

Any suggestions...

Tried different pci slots also deleted and reinstalled software.

Tuning in a satellite

I recently installed a Twinhan card and this is how I have been able to tune in T5 on Ku. I have a C/Ku band dish and have splitters attached to the C/Ku band cables going to my GI450i. The GI450i passes the LNB voltages and control the dish position AND Vertical or Horizontal control of the LNBs.

I am currently connecting the C/Ku cables manually. Heres how I just set it up again.

Ku cable from spltter to LNB in of PCI card. Run WinDVB. LNB & switch settings as follows: Setup 2 Type custom frequency 1 and 2 10750. Everything else disabled. Power off, DiSEqc disabled.

Dish setup: Dish 1, fixed, T5, LNB2, polarization Vertical. (You need to set your C-band receiver to T5 and channel 22 which should be vertical or any other vertical transponder.) Hit scan one satellite and the Twinhan should scan in some channels. I just did this again and had to save another file. I am currently watching the X-files in english on MBC!

To scan in the Horizontal channels you have to set you transponder to horizontal with your c-band receiver. I am sort of figuring out things by trial and error. Speaking of errors, the "failed to set program" error can be caused by many things including dish not on correct sat., LNB not set up correctly, or channel is encrypted.

There are many signals on T5 so try this sat. first. BTW sig. strength 47%/sig. qual. 49% and still a good picture.

Hope this helps, I am new to FTA, too.

Yes, I noticed this too -- however when you are on an encrypted channel my card gives the error message "Fail to play program" -- every other kind of error gives "Fail to set program". I wish the error messages were a little more specific.

pci receiver

I think the whole problem I have is thet the twinhan CI card is not supported by software other than TH, some work but very iffy. I have not tried much lately as other projects are in the way. Might get back to it during the winter when I have more time...I would like to use Hans' program but it does not work with the CI card.

Yup -- I agree. I might get back to it when I have more patience !!! I've come to the conclusion that cards like this are still in the "beta" testing stage, as it were. I'm sure they work well when you know what you're doing -- and that rules me out !!! HeHeHe
