24 inch dish with dual LNB

Will I be able to use the dishnetwork 24 inch dish to catch FTA signals eg on AMC, TYelstar or GE10R satellites.

Thanks

Answer is probably no. Two issues. First size. Usually for one of the normal power, 2 deg spacing satellites, you need about a 1 meter dish for Ku, and at least 6 feet for C-band. This is both a signal strength issue and a resolution issue. However many people report good results with as small as a 70cm dish on Ku, which is about 28 inches, so it is possible that you might be able to get some signals with 24", but certainly not everything.
However, the even bigger problem is the LNB. The Dish lnbs cover the 12.2-12.7 GHz range, and are circular polarized, while the regular FTA on the sats you mention are in the 11.7-12.2 range, and are linear polarization.
The LNBs are capable of receiving outside their range, and in fact, you can receive 12.2-12.7 GHz signals with an 11.7-12.2 LNB, however while a Dish lnb may receive down below it's normal range, the software programs don't typically accept the signals down in that range. Ie with the software I've used, you normally can input Freq/LO combinations which result in the program tuning 950-1450 MHz, but you can also input freqs that result in it tuning outside this range on the high side, ie in the 1450-1950 range, but not on the low side. So you wouldn't be able to input the freqs required to tune those freqs.
So the only way you could even try, would be to replace the lnb, and if you went to that trouble, you might as well just get a new dish that the lnb fits on.
