help newbie here

i just got and installed the TechniSat DIGITAL skystar2 pci card, the instructions they gave were no help i have it installed and the system sees it ok. i have some included software dvb etc... and i know how to do normal stellites but i am lost.. please help what to do after the card is installed... i thought just point to either dish sat or dtv sat and start scanning but i need help i am totally clueless what should i do ... thank you for your help

Well, you are going to have to do a little reading on the forum, but here is a starter for you:

Your dish must be pointed at an EchoStar satellite (119 for example) and you must set the local oscillator frequency for the LNB to 11,250 MHz. Then you need to enter the correct transponder data into your card's software if it isn't already there. Go to www.lyngsat.com for this data.

However, the only channels you will get on your card are a few free channels and some music channels.

I'm not familiar with the card you have but on a Twinhan I played around with before I got bored you had to do it via the LNB SETUP option somewhere in SETUP. Did the CD-ROM that came with the card not have a users manual included?
