Do I need to have "ANY" CAM in the 1030A (red)

I've been trying to get the FTA Dish Network on Echostar7 with my 1030A. The signal is locked on Echostar at about 81%. When I choose Dish Promo or Dish Promo2 I get nothing. In fact I have not been able to view anything even when the signal and quality is good.

My question... Do I need to have "ANY" CAM in the 1030A to view the FTA unencrypted content from Echostar7?

Another question: I am using a Directv Plus Dish with the 3 LNB's. Do I have to re-aim this dish physically to a different satellite? Its is currently receiving from 101, 110 and 119 with subscribed DTV. I am using it to test the 1030A card.

You need to find out what kind of switch the Direct use. If I can be control by Diseqc tone, you can set up the TH switch the lnbf properly. Look like that you get lock, but the signal coming to the card is from the wrong sat. In other words, you try to watch FTA channels on 110, but the signal is from 119 and vice versa.

TWINHAN DVB-S PCI Receiver

Finally got it going.
It was the Directv switch box behind the oval dish.

It is not compatible with the 1030A, thanks "dtsexpert" for the advise.

Now I am able to test with FTA NASA, the Dish500 Info Slate, Dish on Demand and lots of Digital Music. I just ordered a 4-way DiSeqC connector which should allow me to see the other two satellites besides 119 (those being. 101 and 110).
