1020a, 1030a

I'm considering buying one of these cards. Why would I want the 1030a as opposed to the 1020a? What does the 1030a have or do that the 1020a doesn't have or can't do? Thanks..............

TH1020A: For FTA channels only

TH1030A: Has a PCMCI CI clot so that you can insert a CAM and smartcard. These are used when you want to subscribe to scrambled channels.

For example on T5 the following programming providers provide encrypted channel that require subscription: When you use the TH1030A, you will need to buy a CAM that will match the encryption they use. Then you call them and subscribe to the channels you want. They will send you the smartcard to use after you sign up for the channels
