TH1020A and BEC DB-2000 sharing a 90cm dish with HH100 motor

Hello,

I have a BEC STB DB-2000 FTA receiver and a TH1020A PCI card both connected via multiswitch to a 90cm dual LNB dish with a Stab HH100 motor. Both the receiver and the PCI card can controll the HH100 motor via DiSEqC. I've manually stored the location of 7 satellites using the BEC receiver and so far I've told the PCI card the dish was fixed and used the BEC to move the dish.

Here is the question. Does anyone know if I can use the DiSEqC and/or USALS on the PCI card without interfering with the BEC receiver? Obviously the dish can only point at one satellite at a time. My understanding is that the positions are stored in the motor. So if I start using the motor control on the PCI card hardware/software, will I mess up the satellite postions that I stored with the BEC receiver? Does the motor distinguish between different receivers when it stores a satellite position?

At any given time, I'd like to be able use either the PCI card or the BEC receiver. Has anyone done this? If I start saving DiSEqC satellite positions with the PCI card, will I overwrite the satellite positions I saved using the BEC receiver?

Thanks,
Dave

for what its worth.

Okay I do a similar thing.

I have my lnb to my stab to my coship cdvb2300b to my twinhan. I use the coship to position and do not use the twinhan for that. If you are curious I use my twin to do things like AC3 audio decryption and some other things.

The actual positioning information is stored at the unit and the H to H simply gives a relative positioning of the motor/dish. My concern has been running both the reciever and the card with positioning on. since a voltage is being sent to the motor and the lnb I have been concerned about overdriving the motor and possibly overvoltaging the lnb. I simply run one or the other and try not to run both at the same time.

I am not sure if this helps.

Maus.

1. Only use one of the 2 to drive the mount.
2. You should use a DC blocker to block DC from the card out to the BEC. Radio Shack has them, $2/each.
