Hello!
Just received a VP1020A (Red card) and am trying to validate that the card works. I have a functional Dish500 system which I believe is the older legacy setup with two seperate LNBs and a SW21 switch.
I've set my ird to Angel-One (FTA Channel on Echostar 7, should be in the clear, correct?). Then shut off ird and connect coax to lnb-in on 1020 card. When I scan I see good signal and (depending on app) goo quality. But when I scan I get no channels found.
I've tried WinDTV (came with card), MyTheatre and ProgDVB. ProgDVB actually shows both quality and signal in the 80+% range, so I know the card is seeing something. Also set LOF to 11250 and selecting either echostar-7 or echostar 5/8. Seems to scan either and takes about 5 minutes to complete the scan, but still no channels found.
Also tried newest drivers from twinhn site (2.4 I think), different versions of MyTheatre incl 3.07/3.08 and older 2.75.
What am I missing? Seems like I have everything setup, but still no go. I'm going to go up on roof and bypass SW21 but I suspect that's not the problem.
Q: Will sat scan recognize channels on echostar 7/5/8? Maybe I need to try a different bird?
Q: What is the best app to use with this card?
I read on another forum that mytheatre with older dbvcore.dll from MT v2.65 will work. Anyone know where I can d/l from?
Anyone else in same boat with this card? Any help appreciated..
My Setup: P4 2.53ghz, Radeon 9700Pro,
Twinhan VP1020A in bottom most PCI slot (furthest from AGP).
