Only Da-ai and BLTV are real FTA, the rest of them appear to be encrypted, but, I guess, with "zero" key, because we can watch them.
Before, "Hakka TV" was like that, now it's encrypted "for real".
Hi,
I saw on Lyngsat:
ET Global1010 100 101 C
ETTV News America1020 200 201 C
ETTV Drama1030 300 301 C
Yoyo TV1040 400 401 C
SET International1060 600 601 C
JET TV1070 700 701 C
Da-Ai Drama 1080 800 801 C
Beautiful Life TV1090 900 901 C
I-Cable110010001001 C
MAC TV 111011001101 C
ET Global113013001301 C
updated Jan 11, 2007 ... Can this really be true, many of those channels did not have "F" before (like Yoyo and JET and Icable) and now they do??? I dont have my dish pointing to 97w now.. can someone confirm all these F channels are really FTA?
Seems to good to be true, like the temp "F" listing with SatMex 6... heh..

How does this "zero" key work? For example, Mac TV shows up with a $ sign. So it's encrypted but in "zero" key mode to let it be FTA?
Well, "zero" key is just my version, it can be "FF" key, I am not sure, HOW is it working, but you are right, channels appear with "$" sign, and encryption method show "Viaccess", but we can watch these channels without any problem. So, we can call them "FTA", too. Sometimes you can see the picture (on another satellite there was CNN channel), but audio is encrypted, more often audio is in clear but picture is not, you never know what you will discover![]()
Interesting.
However "zero key" really means that it isn't encrypted, which as far as I'm concerned is the same as FTA. These channels are not encrypted, so I'd consider them all as FTA, but that's just me.
I just looked at these with TSREADER, and I do notice that all of these channels except for the ones you mention, seem to have a conditional access setting, ie they indicates a "France Telecom" CA type, however they are apparently not encrypted.
I'm curious about why you said the above. Ie, I posted a week or two ago about one satellite giving me strange results when I'd scan in channels, ie the scrambled channels showed up as being FTA (and yet were not viewable), while the FTA channels were showing up with a $ or whatever the designation for being encrypted is, and they were NOT encrypted. I thought that this meant my Ultra was going bad, but when I switched to another sat, everything was back to normal. (I forget which sat I was on, but it was over near IA7/G13). Anyway, I'm starting to wonder whether uplinkers are starting to fool around with the encryption bit and/or the CA settings.
But back to "Zero Key", the only place I've really seen that used, is for DCII transmissions. Ie the "Free" DCII signals can either be FP, which is encrypted, but with a common known key, while ZK, or zero key, means that it isn't encrypted at all. I've never seen ZK used for DVB transmissions, ie if it isn't encrypted, then it's FTA.
Well, I've seen that Mac TV with $ but it's in-the-clear for several months.. hopefully it'll stay that way and hopefully for those other channels I listed in my first post...dare to dream? heh.
