PAS 8 in California possible?

hello all. Does it possible to catch Pas 8 in California? looks like they are beaming in this area. However the satellite is locatged in 166 degree east. i wonder what are the elevation and azimuth should i use? Any one have a clue?

166 E = 194West. From your localtion, the dish elevation is 3 degrees. That is almost impossible to get because you are pointing the dish at the Horizon (pacific ocean). You will need a huge dish. It is not feasable.

Simply untrue. Some folks in California do get C-band from Pas8, no one has succeeded with Ku though.
About the elevation concerns, I have no problem pulling Ku signal at 7 degs (I707 at 53W)
If you are in San Francico, the elevation for Pas8 is 6 degs. However 1.2m is still not large enough to pull in Ku from this bird

what programs pas 8 carry?
what if my house elevation is 300 feet by the ocean has clear line of sight of horrison, is it possible with 1.2 miter dish?

your area is perfect to try it out. there are more FTA chinese channels if you can catch it.
