If the tax payer is paying "with their tax money" to subsidies a government station, the station should be free to air and free to watch.

I am absolutely appalled that the Korean government does not condone these private enterprise from depriving the Korean community in N. America to receive public Korean station for free. We should start the petition to have the Korean government to get involved and make it public, the way it should be.
Chinese did the same thing to the CCTV when this was pay subscription, and with enough Chinese petition, Chinese government agreed and the result is free.

Lobying works most of the time.
Fellow FTA Korean viewers. At one time in Korea there was and may still be a television tax. The MBC and KBS people would look for TV antennas and collect the TV tax. So as of a few years ago TV in Korea was not free. The stations rebroadcasting programming of Korean shows to North America have to pay for the equipment to transmit the shows and the satellite time. Can’t operate for free. However, I agree 110 percent the prices that Dish (or whoever) is getting for 3 channels is outrageous. I am NOT a subscriber and only had the opportunity to view these stations for about a month before it changed over, I too would like to see it free or at some reasonable price.
