Lyngsat calls this channel "MAC", but it is NOT yet updated on the G3C list. For those with motors, this is no biggie since you can catch MAC on IA5 and SatMex6. However, if you have a stationary setup, then rescan to pick up an extra FREE TO AIR channel

More info on the channel change
For more details on the upcoming move to G3C. See ¥xÆW§»Æ[¹qµø¡ÐTaiwan Macroview Television Service Online and go to the Blue "NEWS" box on the right of browser. Click on 2007/5/1 news story. According to this, their channel will be at 12050 H 20000. My previous posts I believe that I caught them in a testing phase.

No, please read my last post. The previous freq I believe was used for testing purposes. It is now at 12050-H-20000. I had no problems scanning this channel in last night. It's in the same group as the Racetrack stuff. Let us know how it goes. |

So is this "Mac TV" different than the existing Mac TV (also Taiwan) located on G25 (97w) at 12115V?
Ok, re-reading your post indicates this is the SAME Mac TV that's been on 97w for a long time.. so how you figure this is a "new" Chinese channel? It's just a duplicate channel on a different satellite, eh? :-)

bummer
That' a bummer for us folks that are used to having most stuff on G25 and with a stationary mount... 'doh..
So basically, Mac TV is moving... darn!

Correction
MacTV (Taiwan) channel is still on at IA5, but it is gone from SatMex6. Sorry for the confusion
Since my reading skills in chinese is terrible, I thought the move was from IA5 to G3C, but instead it really is from SatMex6 to G3C.

Ah... that's cool.... as long as they keep Mac TV on G25, that'd be great! (heh)...
I wonder why they are "double" broadcasting on two sats... it would cost more money for them and the two sats are next to each other, not like they are on east or west coast for broader coverage, etc.. hmm... oh well...

Well, I agree and it makes more sense to move all the Chinese FTA channels to G3C. One dish solution. However, for those of you who have a stationary dish aimed at G25, but want to be able to watch the channels on G3C as well, I recommend installing a motor to the dish. That will give you more channels for a minimum investment.
Right now we have a sale on our Satcontrol SM3D22 motor for $69 plus s/h. You can't beat that.

I suggest to my friends to get a motor, but the main reason they tell why they don't is that it is too much trouble re-acquiring the signal. One friend took 3 months, every day after work to get back G3C since he did not have a meter. How about throwing in a free meter to make it easier to people to install a motor. |
|
||||
|
and besides a meter isn't that much help anyway except for peaking the signal. i prefer the receiver and a small tv at the dish to locate the sats.

I agree that the motor is a great price. Maybe you can a loaner meter, put a deposit down, get the meter, when they're done with it, send it back, and get a refund. My meter (the freebie I got when I brought the dish) is collecting dust. I was just brainstorming ideas to help you sell more motors. |

Why cant these channels be stable like VTV4 or Thai/Laos channels? hehhe....
