Hi there,
Just joined and wanted to say hello. I have decided I want to purchase a FTA system but am getting more confused as I read up on it.

Saskatchewan. Am looking for stations covering rodeos (if possible) and everyday general programs. I have an old Echostar dish and Bell dish. From what I've read, I believe neither dish can be used with a FTA receiver. I also think I should be buying a motorized dish. I would like to be able to watch one channel and tape another channel. I think this might be possible with some kind of PVR receiver.

G-10 is a popular satellite with a lot of old tv land type shows,plus some network feeds.

A dual feed lnbf should do the trick for watching and recording at the same time on different channels. Same sat though. Motorized should work fine. Can not say as to rodeos. The only ones I remember seeing were on one of the Spanish language channels. I would go with a 90cm dish. Receiver and lnbf is up to you. Bigger the dish the better the reception in concept.
