Just dropping in to say Hi !!
Just getting started with an FTA Setup. Ordered the MKit 1 Dish( w/90cm) system from Sadoun and have a Fortec Star "Mercury II" Receiver on the way as a Birthday gift. So if the weather holds out some, in a few weeks I should/hope to be up and running? I know that after reading alot in these Forums, that if I have any problems or questions, that I can find the Help here !!

New to the forums
Hi Guys,
I finally joined the group after reading messages on the site for a couple of months now. Several weeks ago I ordered the motorized M1 system from Sadoun with the Invacom SNH031. The package arrived on my doorstep in excellent shape and setup was pretty much straight forward after reading through Sadoun's online documentation.
The main reason I wanted an FTA setup was to watch live news feeds. The Fortec Classic NA seems to be all that I could ask for (I don't have anything to compare it too). If I could change just one thing about the receiver it would be the amount of time it takes do run a blind scan on a satellite. I am not even sure if that would be possible.
Thanks Sadoun for a great product and a forum to discuss this wonderful hobby!
-Tim

Sometimes I feel like I am spending more time waiting on a blind scan to complete than I do watching the feeds I am looking for. Someday I might spend the time and add all known transponders (shown on lyngsat) to the lists and then just scan those instead of searching for new transponders everytime. I spend a lot of time on IA6 and it seems that most of the transponders would be in my list by now.

I don't know about the classic but the ultra you can overload it with TP and it does some strange things.

Hello - I am a newbie
Uh..Hello. As the title states I am a newbie to this forum. I have had D* since the days of DSS (late 90s). Lately have an urge to play around with FTA.
I am learning to crawl before I walk - so I will be just a wall-flower and read the threads. I will only ask when I am stuck.
Thanks!
