Forum Volunteers needed
Hi All
I need some volunteers to help in this task:
Goal:
~ Select a few products (that you like) from our website www.sadoun.com
~ List this popular product as a snipit ("Product Highlight") on the relative forum sections at www.sadoun.net
For example, take a look at this: http://www.sadoun.net/forums/install...ation-kit.html
Make sure to include a few images of the product you like. Then you should link the image to the full description page on www.sadoun.com
Volunteers are welcome.

FYI
The right click is disabled on your web site. There is no way to get the images copied to use them here. Can not either know the image url.

I'm just letting Sadoun know. I might be able to get that, but for average user it's hard.

? Right clicking works for me ? Perhaps change has been made by Sadoun, but I think it has always worked for me, as I've grabbed images before for inclusing in posts. I use Mozilla btw.

I use Firefox, and Right - Click is impossible, if someone want to test, go to the following URL and try right-click on Globecast receiver image: no menu is displayed.
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/G...ceiver-New.htm
Also, try to right - click a link "Satellite receivers: nothing happens.
If this is a some kind of a prevention, it does not work: on e-bay, I have seen items, accompanied with a pictures with Sadoun's logo, quite often

Both worked fine for me. I right clicked on the receiver image at the above URL, and could pull in the image at http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/G...t-receiver.JPG
I could also right click any of the menu items at the side and got a drop down menu. It's strange that Firefox would behave different from Mozilla. I used to have Firefox on this computer, but I liked Mozilla better, so I don't have it on here anymore. I do have the PrefBar plugin running, but I don't think that would make a difference.
However, I just thought of one thing that might be related. I have noticed that when replying to posts like this, that sometimes when the edit window comes up, I can't do anything inside the window, but I found that if I re-load, and wait till it completely reloads before scrolling, that then it works normally. I wonder if it would make a difference with Firefox, if you make sure that the page has completely loaded before touching anything on the page? It just seems like the Sadoun web page seems to have some component that doesn't load completely if you try using the page before it finishes loading.

With Firefox when this edit box comes up, there is no blinking cursor, but typing the first letter brings both letter and cursor, and no need to reload.
For Sadoun.com, Mozilla rules, because right-click does not work in both Firefox and IE. I have Mozilla on another machine and will try.

It is very easy to get around a disabled right click regardless of browser. I would guess that it is some form of an attempt to stop theft of images. I will not openly post here as it appears it does accomplish the desired effect at least with some people.

Yep, you are right. I have seen a major Middle Eastern satellite magazine (no not Tele Satallite), "borrowed" our pictures and step by step instructions on how to install a motorized system. Where ever our logo or website is present on the photo they covered it. Not even one mention of our website on the article. They did that on two consecutive issues.
I am not sure if our policy of disallowing right click on 95% of browsers is a good or bad idea? What do you think?
We can easily change that. Any suggestions?

Public directory listing was updated a couple of days ago, that's why you were able to see the file listing. This is no longer valid

As to a magazine "borrowing" I personally would have contacted them and state it is ok to use the content from the website but in exchange for permission a statement indicating source. Seems like free advertising to me especially if they used your logos. Now if you do not sell to middle eastern countries ...
As to your policy I do not think it really matters to the majority. A lock is only meant to slow down a thief just as nothing is hack proof. The question is the level of difficulty. It does provide a small level of security as instead of dealing with workarounds someone can just go to a different site.
If it were me I think I would state all content from this site is free to be used unaltered on another's site providing your logo is present and clickable to your site and you are made aware of the url & approve of the site it is used at. I would also specify a minimum size your logo must be.
This gets you more exposure (1) provides a route to your site (2) & you can check the site for it's content. You may not want your content displayed at that particular site (3).
My thoughts
EDIT: What I would do is delete boroda1's post. I personally do not think it wise to post how to get around an attempted security measure on one's own site.

There is a lot of merit to this. But, I am afraid people would use it as an open invitation to copy whatever they want. Actually one of our dealer did exactly that (if you saw his website you would think you are visiting ours ). When he was informed nicely of his gross violation, he immediately removed it from his site.

This is why you would need to check the site. Would not want someone representing themselves as you without your express permission. Making a complete copy is a whole new game.
