Members World Map

Here is a nice new addition to our forums. If you look at the navigation bar above, you will see a link to "Members World Map". Click on it and see where all the members of this forum come from.

The map is generated based off the IP addresses of all members and currently online. A dot is put on the map for each user's last ip. Neat!

the map is cool.

lot of members from the mid west to the east coast. I think it's great to have so many members from all over the world.

Very nice feature! I didn't show up in the online-guest map immediately, but after a few minutes, a red dot showed up on the east coast of Canada

Kinda neat, yeah... if not accurate. My IP must map somewhere in GA -- there's no dot on the map anywhere in FL for the 'currently online' users, even after waiting several minutes.

To conserve CPU labor, the server updates the map every 14 minutes. So, if you stick around this long on the forum, you should see a dot for your location.

Kinda neat, but for us satellite users it gives misleading information. I'm in Virginia but my downlink gateway is in Laredo Texas. I'm 1500 miles from my IP location. I get the same thing with the spam emails that say, "There is a girl in Laredo that is anxious to meet you."

This is my first post. I live in Todos Santos BCS a few monts a year, that's about 50 mi North of Cabo.

I'm on DirecTV, well sort of. Stations disappear, I'm not sure of my exact geographic location, or if I'm pointed at the correct ssatellite. In the summer I live in North Hollwood, no problem but here?? anyone have any helpfull info
