Math Quiz
In your head only. do not use paper and pencil or a caculator.
take 1000 and add 40 to it.now add another 1000.now add 30 add another1000.now add 20. now add another 1000. now add 10. what is the total.
answer: did you get 5000?
the correct answer is actually 4100.
don't believe it? check with caculator. #-o

I got it right, but almost got confused at the end I was thinking 4090, but for a second I thought 4900. Corrected my self just in time to get 4100  |

how did you guys get 5000? was it the point were you went from 3090 and added 1000 and 10 make your brain add another factor of 10 to the 10?
sorry.. I did my algebra and satistics without a calculator. (I made plenty of these mistakes before learning not to do it)

I got 4100 but from a whole different angle from what you guys are talking about. I ignored the 1000 entries as they were all the same. Simply multiply but the count (40the smaller numbers first then added the 4000 to it. I read the entire question first and knowing it was all addition any order would suffice. Guess I really didn't follow the rules though =D>
