3 men rented a room for 15 dollars. 5 dollars each. the manger decided he over charged them by 5 dollars. so he sent the bellhop to there room with the 5 dollars. the belhop could'nt figre out how to divide 5 by 3 eaqualy so he decides to give each man 1 dollar and keep 2 dollars. so each man paid 4 dollars for the room which comes to 12 dollars and the bellhop kept 2 dollars which makes 14 dollars what happen to the other dollar. #-o

The original version I heard was that the three men payed $10 each, which total $30. The manager realized he had overcharged by $5, the room was really on $25. So he sends the bell boy back with $5, which he gave them $1 each and kept $2 for himself. Meaning they only payed $27 for the room (3x$9), the bell boy has $2, which equals $29, so where is the missing $1??

One of the many formulas in math you can reverse equate and show how math is not a perfect science. #-o

right there is the problem.. his desision was flawed.. 10 dollars (the total the manager desided the customers should have paid) is not divisable by 3 (the number of customers he had).
I think I could go further with this but I think its self explanitory from there.

I had to take a class in college that had nothing but problems like this. ugh.

that and since there were 3 guys.. and the bellhop gave each one 1 dollar.. that would make the total 13 dollars.

I can't even figure out how 3 men paid 4 dollars each for a room that only cost 10 dollars.

And where could you find those $15 dollar rooms. The only ones like that around here are on the "dark" side of town and they have a 1 hour time limit....so I've been told anyway
