Metamaterials and satellite lenses
I've been reading about metamaterials recently, one thing that just occurred to me is that a flat microwave lens made of metamaterials would be ideal for receiving satellite broadcasts, perhaps superior to a parabolic dish of the same diameter. For reference, here's a short interview with a pioneer of metamaterials: Ask the expert: metamaterials - optics.org You can also find more info on wikipedia, etc.
