Bibbler...

Reconsider!

(forgive and forget basically)

It wasn't the end of the world.. simply one "edit" .. and he appologized...

Let it go .. (or consider to .. anyhow)

Life is too short for such grudges over something like that...

Back to the "bin file" talk... I do believe there is legit "factory" bin file you can upgrade (or reset) your firmware back to the original settings if for some reason your receiver gets whacked out.

If you go to Fortec's website I believe you can find the legit factory bin you can load, so when someone talks about "bin" it's not always about hacking....

Just my two cents...

Personally I don't care if we lose a few legit (or potential legit converts) due to banning people who mention hacking or use hacking terminology. The safety and security in having forums free from scrutiny and possible legal actions (look back at the DTV days) is much more important to me as a consumer of legitimate FTA equipment.

Of course, I may not be the best person to speak, since many people don't agree with my take on the death penalty - which is do it fast and let the occasional innocent rejoice in the glory of God all that much sooner

Angry Bin's and 119

My two cents worth,

I'm new to this forum but have been around for quite a few years playing with this stuff . If I'm going to be banned for inquiring on where to get the factory Bin File (thats what they are called) for my reciever or for mentioning I have a dish pointed at 119 with my Viewsat so I can get the NASA channel (which along with Angel One are in the clear) then I will move along to another forum where people don't have there heads in the sand!

nobody that I know of here has been banned for talking about factory software or watching free channels on the echo birds. you got to understand most of the people that has been banned have had the chance to explain their intentions. and only the ones that are obviously stealing are the ones that get banned. and when you became a member of this forum you agreed to the rules of this forum which the moderators try to uphold.

WRONG! My post was CENSORED because I used (in the words of super moderator VJ) an obvious hacker BUZZWORD "BIN".....

In my case, I had obtained an FTA receiver that had been hacked. I asked where I could get a BIN (there's that obvious buzzword again) to return it to factory settings. And yes, I posted an old link to the receiver so users could see what it looked like.

I broke the rules by posting a link to a generic receiver that is no longer available and which Sadoun doesn't (or ever did carry)....

But hey, if that's the rules here, have at it..... BTW VJ, Just ordered me a new 2.4 meter polar mount C Band dish, cable, and a new jack! GOOD JOB!! That's the 1st $600 you cost Sadoun!!!

Al I didn't say anything about being censored as you said I said banned.
you for one should know how hard it is to moderate a board since the spammers took over your site!!

and as far as buying from another dealer because of VJ is like not buying a Ford Because someone at GM done you wrong makes no sense.

Whatever Bibbler. To hell with this. I have been nothing but nice and polite and you refuse to look at this from a reasonable point of view. I don't know what issues you have, but honestly it is none of my business.

You have attacked my integrity and that I will not stand here and take quietly. Get over you issues, read what I have said and pointed out million times. I have not censored anything regarding "bin" file in a post from you. If you can find a post and point it ot, please do.

Anyway. You get your way. I have better things to do than sit here and take this BS from you. I am officially resigning from being a moderator. Maybe you should ask to be one and we can see how you could contribute.

Good Bye!

p.s. My actions have not cost anyone anything. It is your irrational views and actions. You win. Go and rejoice.

So what if you were censored? Again this is owned by a private company to do with as they see fit. Again I say I can send you some pills if you are out. It is not the end of the world (well maybe but I don't think it is). You have freedom of speech but not freedom of written in America. Any post made here technically becomes property of and owned by the company that owns the site. This means that "your" post was not censored. "Your" post was no longer "your" post when it was posted to the site. At that time it became Sadoun's property to do with as he desires. Agree / disagree is irrelevant as that is the way it is.

The rules I have read regarding posting to this site seem quite reasonable when viewed from an owners perspective. I do not ever recall anything stating "Anything you post will remain regardless of content" So you got hit. Big deal, it is only an online forum.

This is a PUBLIC Forum, not a closed PRIVATE Forum. However, this is not an FTA forum, it is a "Sadoun Products Forum". If I, as a user can not come here and ask a simple question about a piece of FTA equipment without the moderators feeling threatened, then it's not for me.

However, you are correct, Sadoun can absolutely dictate how it is run. But "Censorship" is never cool, even in a private forum.

I as well have any right to spend my money any way I wish. And I hAVe - and I will continue to do so as I add to my dish farm this spring - And I will continue to promote this hobby to friends, family and co workers.

With that Sir, I will go away. In case you haven't noticed, this isn't the only FTA forum on the net nor the only supplier of FTA equipment in the country.

Again. What did Sadoun do to you? I deleted a link you posted. Big freaking deal. You might have a selective memory and that is your choice. Moderators here are not Sadoun employees and actions do not reflect on Sadoun in anyway. If you don't like one of the moderators and feel like you have been wronged, you are always free to report them to the owner.

You blew this whole thing out of proportion.

This is the third time you have said "goodbye" yet you keep coming back?

I seriously don't get what your gripe is. In the link that was posted, that thread was EIGHT months ago and all that was done (from what I see) is the link to a competitors site was removed. You put the words factory bin in your post and that wasn't "censored" you put it because there is not need to. factory bin has no issues here or really any other board. I post the words "factory bin" all the time. One of my receivers has had more factory bin updates in the last 3 months than probably the rest of the boxes I own combined. The main company that deals with the box works with the coders to fix the minor bugs.

Also what is the whole "I bought X amount of stuff from Sadoun" thing? So because you bought stuff from here you should be treated differently? I've purchased many things from Sadoun including (just off the top of my head)
2 6 foot dishes
2 90cm dishes
1 80cm dish
1 T90 dish
a boatload of LNB's (probaby 15 or so for the T90)
compression connectors, switches, etc

yet I don't flaunt that. I have also purchased many things from other companies too because either Sadoun doesn't carry them (ie: Pansat, Coolsat & Visionsat receivers) or I found the item I needed locally or at a cheaper rate. Google can be your friend

I don't understand why all of a sudden because a mod banned a hacker who obviuouly was doing that you have an issue? I feel the integrity of the board and others that deal with the LEGAL issue of free to air is at stake here. If we allow these scum to come here and post their issues we are no better than the 500000 hacker sites out there. Google those if you would rather go somewhere with "no censorship" yet every thread is "how come my box dont work. All I get is scrambled channels".

I am well aware and for me I have got the best service with Sadoun along with his competitive pricing. I do not use his DiSEqC switches. Not sure if it is his switches or my lack of experience when starting out with DVB receivers but I went through enough. Do not remember the brand I have on there now, probably Pansat, but have had no issues with it. Sadoun is also not that far from me should I feel the need to drive over and see them.
