Doctor Who without a doubt. I loved watching it in the 80s, and now they have revived it. PBS shows it late at night, but I brought the entire first and second year series DVD from PBS. The story is not a great as the original series with Tom Baker, but it is good.

I think my all time favorite changed nearly every year over the decades.
At first, I think it may have been the test pattern that came on in the afternoon before the Howdy Doody show, then Howdy Doody became my favorite.... even to my being one of the oldest members of the peanut gallery. (We vacationed in NY, and got tickets to the show.Oldest meaning I was about a 9 year old among 5 and 6 year olds.)
After that, Captain Video was one of my favorites, followed by Science Fiction Theater, and shows like the George Gobel show, Jack Parr, Jackie Gleason show, Ernie Kovaks show, Milton Beryl, I love Lucy, Steve Allen show, Maverick, Sugarfoot, and yes, Gunsmoke. Also later shows such as the Smothers Brothers, the Avengers, Laugh-in, My world and Welcome to it, Bob Newhart, the Prisoner, etc, etc. Too many modern shows to mention.
I think over the years I've had HUNDREDS of favorite TV show of all time. Right now, my favorite is MONK.
Almost forgot... The Lone Ranger and Red Skelton, Perry Mason, and later Get Smart, .

Captain Kangaroo, F-Troop, Ed Sullivan, the original Twilight Zone, Red Skelton, Perry Mason, The Honeymooners, Andy Griffith and a host of specials like Rudolf, Peanuts, Grinch (cartoon). I must say I do not find much of anything on tv nowadays very appealing.

OK, so how many of us here actually did see the Beatles play on the "really big show" in 1964?
(Yes, I raise my hand...)

I was only 2 then so maybe I missed that episode As I got looking over my list I noticed after about 72 I really have not been that impressed with TV shows. Unless documentaries count I do like some of the shows on Court TV

Too many to enumerate...(and others have listed some of my all time faves) but, high up that list would be:
The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Oooh, that show was so cool, what with the cigarette case communicators (cell phones anyone?) and the awesome weaponry.
I even planned to build an underground secret agent headquarters in my backyard (no engineering feat is too large for an 11 year old). I also went so far as to wear a (handmade) numbered triangular badge (a la the show) to school on occasion.

Beverly Hillbillies, Munsters, Addams Family, The Wonderful World of Disney that was on Sunday nights with the NBC Peacock. I miss that Peacock Gilligans Island. Most anything on PBS. Green Acres, Wild Wild West. I really think TV has lost "good" shows.
