my loss of sight to G10R

The branch blocking my view to G10R is in the red circle.
The blue line approximates the arc.

I have 2 dishes installed - my 120cm C/Ku dish is on a tall pole, to see over the trees on the rear property line.
It can view about 72 to 110. The trees in the right side of the picture block 110+

So, I found the "hole" in the neighbors trees that you can see in the graphic, and put my 30" Ku dish on a tripod in the back of my yard.
The coax connected to a 4 port DisEqc switch, and with the C and Ku from the 4 footer, had G10R.

A few weeks ago, a windstorm blew the branch into the view and blocked the signal path. I know the folks that own the tree, I'm sure I could ask them to allow me to pull that branch down with a rope... but for now, I've lost all the RTN stations I really enjoyed watching.

Now I have the 30" free, and plan to try to find Hispast from the other corner of my yard. An experiment a couple weeks ago was unproductive.
Guess I'll try again.

Sure seems like G10r should be higher in the sky for you, but perhaps it's perspective issue with the picture, like if it was taken with a wide angle lens.

It could be that you were looking through one of the other branches all along, and you lost reception when the leaves got wet and then leaf'ed out more. I lost much of my reception on the lower 4 or 5 sats I can see a week or two ago, without any obvious change in the position of any branches. I was still getting reception after the leaves initially came out, so I thought that my tree cutting had been successful, however over the last few weeks, the leaves got denser and denser, so I can no longer see through the little holes I was getting reception through before.

I dunno, I thought it'd be a bit higher too, but thats the only thing that dropped into that opening. Fixed elevation here is 18 deg for G10r.

Just before it all went away, I lost 1/2 the channels on G10R, they were so low signal they'd just chatter at the low signal level. I attributed that as one group is typically weaker than the other, and it'd come back on its own once whatever they can do for maint on the sats.

I even brought out the receiver to the tripod dish, and tried right there (bypassing switch), and even changed out the LNB.
Not a peep from G10R.

Yeah, it's 17.6 elevation here, but it seems higher than the view in your picture, but it's hard to tell from a picture I guess. I guess as a rule of fingers, if you make a fist, and hold your arm out in front of you, one fist is about 10 degrees, and each finger in the fist about 2 degrees, so I guess about 2 fists worth for us.

You've actually given me a bit of hope that I might be able to reclaim some of my western reception. I view the western sats through some similar holes under some trees on over other trees. When I recently lost reception, I thought I knew which trees had grown, ie trees that I don't want to cut. However on reading your posts, I pulled out some pictures of my view of the sky from behind the sat dish, and I just realized that the dish was looking a bit higher than I had thought, and it was possible that it was the lower branches from a nearby tree I was looking UNDER that are now blocking me, ie branches that should be pretty easy for me to trim. I think that tomorrow, I'm getting out my saws again. It's kind of frustrating, because in the winter, I can see all the way to 135, however my aging H-H mount tends to freeze up and get stuck if I go that low. In the summer, the mount works fine and I can go down there without getting stuck, but the trees block me. At first, they only blocked 135 and 133, but in recent years I've lost 131, and this year I've lost 129 and 127 too.
