I saw last night too that HRT1channel got scrambled, but CMC and two croatian radio channels from AMC-4 were still in clear.

ja sam nedavno uzeo pansat 2700a receiver i 36" fs dish,
reci mi koji je najbolji satelit gdje ima najvise nasih kanala i evropskih.
nalazim se u Albany NY

Why are you surprised? The plan was all along for it to be a subscription service. This way they can actually offer content that they had to black out before (soccer games, movies, etc.)

Most other ex-yu channels can be found on IA5, but they are all subscription channels as well. You will need a subscription from Globecast World TV.

your channel list is not updated that is why it says free but it's black. HRT 1 on AMC 4 scrambled a few days ago... following suit with PLANETA TV.

Only CMC remains free and a couple radio channels.

There remains no other free Balkan channels on T5. EVERYTHING IS SCRAMBLED.

I was in Croatia on vacation and playing with Hotbird. There is a really cool music channel called balkanmedia.tv that plays a great mix of all kinds of ex-yu music.

On their website http://www.balkanmedia.tv/ there is no mention of broadcasting in US, but on their parent site there is a add saying they will be in US starting July. I'd love to see this channel popup somewhere. You can see on the website a list of bands/videos they play.

Yes, I 've been to that website. I didn't know there was a tv channel from them though but all I can say is even if they come here obviously it will PROBABLY SCRAMBLE as will all other balkan channels.

There is also a very similar channel called Balkanika , they also play all types of balkan music on their channel which is only in europe. They may or may not come to NA.

C band = big black dish.

C band will probably get you more channels.. check oout lyngsat.com for what's available.

BalkanMedia TV bi trebao uskoro poceti emitiranje u Sj. Americi.

Valjda cekaju na dodjelu frekvencije od Globecast-a.....sto znaci da ce najvjerojatnije biti kodiran za neko vrijeme.

Pa dobar e toj FS LNBKU. Sensitivity e 0.4 db. Ako hoces po sensitive LNB ima i od 0.3 db od INVACOM. Ali jas imam FS lnbku i super e. (Izvini jas pricam Makedonski nemam pojma za srpsko-hrvatski ali se trudam :-)

Znaci idu nekodirano!! Ovo ce biti veliki udarac BN-u i Pink-u. Mozda osvjesti konje pa ce malo smanjiti cijene svojih programa ili biti vise u FTA modu.

I watched it for 2 weeks while on vacation in Croatia. I liked it. It is kind of like CMC (Croatian Music Channel) except they play a mix of all ex-yu music. Alot of SMS messages scrolling on the screen and advertisments every once in a while (if that is what keeps it FTA I really don't mind).

I really liked a song "Dijete u vremenu" from LET-3 from Rijeka (coincidentally I was in Opatija on vacation). I'm glad CMC is playing it too. It's actually a cover of an old Saban Saulic song

Balkanmedia.tv says on it's web site that July 1st date was a little off, but it is still coming:

Pa to je super, samo da ima jos neki besplatni kanal dje mozes gledati dnevnik i i ostale stvari.Pa ljudi oni nisu normalni koliko naplacuju mjesecno,pa mogu uzeti HBO package za te pare, a sto kaze croat, samo pustaju napumpane sisate glupace po cijeli boziji dan.Dali zna iko hoceli biti BHTV uskoro ili Hayat tv?

That's what everybody said about Pink when BN first showed up FTA on Galaxy 10R. Now look BN is even encrypted and I predict that Balkanmedia will eventually do the same. Just like Pics of Croatia, was fta for years and now it's pay tv. One thing is for sure if Balkanmedia stays fta it will be a very good channel!

Pink was encrypted in Europe before it even showed up in North America.

Picture of Croatia is encrypted in Europe also, and back in the day when HRT first showed up on IA5, I remember reading on their site how they had plan to encrypt. They didn't do it for long time since originally their program was only 3 hrs/day, then they moved it to 3x8, which still doesn't cost too much. What they do with "3x8hr programming scheme" is send transmission once, Home2US records it while they uplink to AMC4. Once the 8hr transmission is done, signal from Europe is cut and Home2US will just uplink the recorded material two more times. Globecast used to do same thing. It's a big money saver. Another thing is that POC is funded by Croatian Government. Because of these two, I believe that POC should be FTA. But as I said, even 3 years ago, their plan was to encrypt. Novac je kurva.

The whole idea behind Balkanmedia TV is that they are different that other TV stations and their moto is Free TV without subscription.

Just because they're going under Globecast, it doesn't mean they'll encrypt. There are many channels under GC that are permanent FTA (middle eastern for example)

Cuo sam na robnakuca.com da ce tvsa i hayat biti uskoro, ali nista od toga izgleda.Nikad im nije dosta para!Ja mislim da je samo ostala slovenija FREE a sve ovo je karinana,ali sta ce mi Slovenija kad ne razumijem.
CMC je cool ali koliko ce biti free to niko nezna.Evropski sateliti su dosta bolji od americkih i dosta ima kvalitetnih kanala.

Sent them two emails asking for update. Never heard back.

Edit: I just read in onother thread here that Globecast will be adding one more TP.
Maybe Balkanmedia is really waiting for GC to get more room.
