Birdog with continuous Backlight.

Bought this unit off of ebay, birdog version 2.5

I have used the Birdog product off and on for close to 2 yrs. Like the unit and decided to get my own.

The box looks to be virtually new no marks or signs of damage or tampering at all. Problem is and was stated clearly b4 bidding. Backlight stays on all of the time even when the unit is powered off.??? Anyone able to answer that one? have upated the software and it was version 2.5

Have charged the battery twice over 24hr periods and it says 100% trickle charge after the battery reaches 100% fully charged. Have swapped batteries with a buddy who also has one. and the battery checks out perfectly. problem is when the unit is powered on it lasts about 5-8 seconds and then displays low battery message and powers off. Gurrrr!!! doesn't matter which battery I try.

I'm thinking this is a lemon.

Anyone have any answers or know a place to get help as I have no warranty.

I think you are out of luck. The batteries will drain real quick with the backlight on all the time.

Yep that about sums it up.

Looks like i have parts for someone who may need'em someday.

...and the crappy thing is.... you have to send them to England for repairs. At least you did a couple of years ago; maybe its changed.
