Birdog Defective?

I recently got a birdog meter, and it turns on, then shuts off with "I2C Error".. I disconnected the battery, and reset it, but no matter what it displays this error, it doesnt matter if there is an LNB hooked up or not. Is the tuner no good? Is there replacement parts available?
