Nimiq update for Birdog meters

It seems Birdog has fixed the problem with Birdogs misidentifying the Canadian Nimiq satellites. I downloaded a new satellite list and my Birdog (with version 2.50us firmware) will now correctly identify both Nimiq 82 and Nimiq 91. As for other Birdogs with older firmware versions I don't know if they will correctly identify the Nimiq birds.

So those Birdog owners with the 2.50us version who have been experiencing Nimiq problems, go to the Birdog site and configure another satellite list and update your meter.

Finally after more than TWO years from your advise I am stisfied to go and buy BIRDOG.
Any idea about the distributor here in Montreal?

where can i buy the birddog. I have the sathawk 3000, but not very happy with it. Doesnt intentify the sats properly. Any advice? What is the best satellite out there, and can I buy them in Toronto. I heard about one called the satvision SF-3000, anyone know anything about them.

Hi! bobkat. I am in market for one of these meter. I am also in Toronto. I have been searching any places I can find, but no one has it. I almost order 1 from this website, but the custom and duties scare me away. Can you please direct me to this place. Thanks

Actually I just did the math and it is cheaper to buy from Sadoun than from my contact - you save $28 CDN even after factoring in duties and customs brokerage fees. You should order from Sadoun.

Nope. They sell to dealers only and they are not even really in Toronto but a 1 hour drive away. Not much to check out - you can tell just about everything from the website photos and you can even download and print the manual ---> www.birdog.tv
