Ok, I got a Birdog Meter version 2.50

I ordered the Computer Interface Cord .................LDSM232
from Sadoun and I was happy to update the Satellite programs on my meter, for some reason I get the error code "ACK Not received"

Any help will be appreciated

Are you getting that error on a particular satellite, after the update, or when you hook up the dish to the meter?

Ok, here is the situation :

I have an older model of Birdog meter (satellite finder) version 2.50
When I checked the uploaded or preset of the meter, it has only direct TV and few more
I am trying to find Galaxy 25 KU or Galaxy 19 (97 west)
So, it doesn't have it on my meter (satellite finder)
I was told to update the software of my Birdog version 2.50 and add Galaxy 25KU or Galaxy 19 (97 west)

Now, I just ordered the serial cable from Sadoun and I am able to connect one end(9pin) to my PC and the other end(Ethernet connector type) to my Birdog meter
But I believe I need the driver for my meter , inorder for my PC to detect it ?
and be able to update the files on my meter
I downloaded this file ( CDM 2.00.00.exe) and followed the instructions on this page (Horizon Satellite Meters)
When my meter is connected to my PC with windows 7 Ultimate and I run the generated file for example(rad023D2) and I hit TRANSFER, that is the time I get that error code.

So, basically I am having trouble updating my Birdog meter version 2.50 to be able to find Galaxy 25ku or galaxy 19

I need to know how to upgrade the software of my Birdog Meter 2.50
Does anybody know any place where someone can help me to update the software of my Birdog !

I am getting this same error. Birdog themselves no longer support this meter. My meter works fine, but lacks the satelites I need in order to work. Birdog support suggest it may be an RS232 interface problem. I need to get mine repaired. Anybody know a repair shop I can take it to or send it to?

Had the same problem, it said to use Windows XP, xp worked for me. Sometimes you might have to try it a couple times.

I just got one off craigslist for a $100.00.
had to purchase an interface cable, got that yesterday.

Using windows 7 Home Premium, with a USB to 9pin, downloaded the drivers and connected to computer , recognized the Bird dog, and uploaded list I made with no errors.

Press The “Transfer” Button
If you get ACK Error message, change your COM port selection by
checking the correct COM number.
Then try to “Transfer” again. A failure to achieve “Transfer Complete”
indicates a COM problem.
