hi all, looking for info on installing this new 3 lnb dtv dish.its the new one with all switches built in.and can i use my birddog on this thing?thanks :?:
I've been wanting to test that myself but never had the opportunity so far. I know the Birdog works with Bell ExpressVu's (& DishNetwork's) SW21 and SW44 multiswitches so I'm tempted to say that it will work with DirecTV's internal switches -- don't know for sure though. :?:
hey bobkat, thanks for the reply.well i did find some more info on that dishso maybe if we get some nice days this weekend i am going toset it up a try pointing it.let you know how it goes.
Yes guys, the birdog meter will work with the new Phase three dish. Just make sure you update you files on it. There are not many more channels available by using it. Only spanish channels, HD channels, locals (a few markets) NASA, RFD and BYU channels.
I just discovered today that the Birdog will work through DiSEqC switches -- although it doesn't switch the dishes; seems to lock onto whatever dish is configured as LNB1.
That is the going price everywhere that I have seen. The problem is that DirecTV is giving them away for free when they add local channels in your area. Local channels are coming here in the next month or so and I got the notice in the mail last week offering me the free triple LNB dish upgrade.
On a side note: on your satellite heading calculator page are those the numbers that I need to check line of site on in order to receive signals from the satellite? I am asking because I have DirecTV and I just got the free triple LNB dish but I am only getting a signal from 101 and 110. I want to try to find a location where I can see all three and wanted to know if those are the numbers I would need to check with a compass/clinometer because if so I am thinking about picking up that suunto tandem.
Check Price on Ebay For Triple Lnb Oval Dish, I Believe they goes 4 set of these for 99$ plus 45 shipping, so total is around $150 for 4 triple LNb Dishes. 8)
