For as much as I like to help out our members I simply do not have time to answer Private Messages or emails asking about setup and other general issues. Please post your questions in the forums and we will try to help you out. Thanks.
I am getting an excess current error as well.... it started after being off for a while and sitting in a garage. I'm thinking that it might be over heated but I am posting this on case there may be another issue which you may be aware of.
I was thinking... might it be that the battery is beginning to go dead?

Im thinking that it might be the cable the tech used or else that the short is at the LNB (I had cut into the cable at the arm so I didn't have to take the LNB off.
Excess current error is usually some type of short. Replace your test cable then test the battery pack; if it won't hold a charge for more than a few hours it is time for a replacement.

it was that the battery was low. I took it out to another satellite and turned it on. At that time the meter told me the battery was at 97% but it wasn't 5 minutes later it beeped and said "low battery, shutting off". When I was playing with it last night it said the charge was at 99%.
here is what I've discovered, when I try to site a multi lnb dish (dish500) it gives me the error. But when site a single lnb on the same bird it doesn't go off until the automatic shut down expires. What I'm thinking is -1- there is a braid shorting things out at the LNB or -2- the energy pull is too much with the multi LNB dish. What are your thoughts oh wise ones?
how do you think I should overcome the problem if it is the lnb that is giving me the problem? Should I power the birdog using the powered cable.... I just had a thought: perhaps the problem reason for the excess current error is that I haven't disconnected the other line. maybe power is back feeding out of the other LNB port.... I'll have to test that idea tomorrow. the tv is in use at the moment.
The tv use became null so I was able to test my theory.... that was the problem after all. yipeeee! I figured it out. I thought the cables would be isolated.
