I have a birdog meter that won't charge up. The meter comes on although the batter meter shows 0%. I don't leave it on, instead I'll just turn it off.
I started trying to charge it up when it was at 80% & 61%, both times it wouldn't charge. I then disconnected the battery & reconnected the battery only for it to then read 0%. It was reading 61% before I disconnected the battery (you talk about ya power drain - wow).
I thought it could be the cable so I ordered a new one but still not charging up. I was told that it wouldn't be the battery when I was about to order a new one. Someone please help on this.
Usually rechargeable batteries have a useful life of one year or 300-500 recharge cycles whichever comes 1st. If your battery is over these limits, maybe its time for a new battery. You can also call the 800# listed on the BIRDOG to inquire with Tech support about their recommendation.
