Is it safe to use birdog.tv configurfation

I just received a new birdog satmeter purchased from Sadoun. If you go to the birdog.tv configuration page it warns "...will work only in BirDog meters sold by Perfect-10 Satellite Distributing, USA. The data is unusable in similar meters purchased elsewhere AND the upload will result in a disabled meter."

Are the BirDogs sold by Sadoun going to work with the uploaded configurations from birdog.tv ?
