Birdog 3.0 Usb Downloading And Upldg

I GOT MY NEW BIRDOG acouple of days ago and am having problems downloading and up loading the sats that I want. First of all let me say that the preconfigured files work perfect and I have no trouble with them.
When I create a "configure " file at the birdog.tv site and choose generate
Then the file downloads to the directory of my choice but the second window that opened does not look like the window in the book and I cant choose ports or usb. When I click on the file that downloaded two more
windows open. The first looks like a DOS box and the second is an error
message.
Anyone else have this problem?
Im using Win XP and its as up to date asi can get it. W/SP2.
