Again, Mauritania TV is gone and Abu Dhabi Sports is Back.
I hope it stays on until Soccer World Cup 2006 is over.

That would be excellent if the two Emirates Sport Channel be available on IA5. But I think they have to limit those free sport channels. I don't think those are government channels, they are commercial. But lets hope we have all the sport channels available to us.

Abu Dhabi sports is welcome.
alhamari, maybe we should start an email campaign to the Arabic TV stations that are not present on IA5 to encourage them to start broadcasting to North America either on IA5 or AMC4.
Also, maybe we should write to the ARABIC TV stations already present on IA5 to thank them for broadcasting FTA to NA and to encourage them stay FTA and to have special programs specific to the Arabic community in NA. Also, they should have more programs with English translation.

Sadoun, around 8 months ago, I have email around 15 Arabic channels which only are broadcasted in the Middleast and encouraged them to start broadcasting their channels in North America. Only 3 of them replied to me and said they hope to do so in the future.
But I think your idea is a great idea. The Arabic Community is growing bigger every year. I think there are more than 6.8 million Arabs in North America. So I am sure it would revive the Arabic culture if more Arabic Channels were broadcasted in North America. Each month the Arabic channels is getting bigger. I think there are more then 300 Arabic Channels which are broadcasted in the Middleast from different Satellite. And only 45 of them are broadcasted in North America including Dishnetwork and IA5.
Is there anyway we can ask those Arabic channels which are not aired in North America to start transmitting them? Let me know what can be done?

Find the email address for the - Arabic channels that are FTA in NA
- Arabic channels that are FTA in Middle East but NOT in NA
For group 1, post the email addresses here. Then a draft message will be made to send to these stations thanking them for their FTA broadcast into the USA, and so forth.
For group 2, post the email addresses here. Then a draft message will be made to send to these stations encouraging them to start FTA broadcasting into the USA.

You da man.
Here is a darft message you can send to them. Let's have all the members send them a message like this to encourage them to start transmitting into the USA.
-------------
Dear Broadcasting Manager
Greetings from the USA.
The Arab American population in North America is on the increase. Five years ago, there were only about 5 Arabic free to air channels broadcasting to North America. Today, more than 20 TV and 22+ radio FTA channels available on Intelsat America 5 satellite (IA5 - 97W). Your station is not present here yet.
I encourage you to have your channel available FTA over North America. Your high quality programming will be well appreciated within the Arabic and American community at large.
IA5 satellite is a leading source for international programming in America. Over 160 television and radio channels in more than 30 languages representing 40 countries from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, are delivered via this satellite. Also, AMC4 satellite is a good choice.
If your programming schedule would include some English language or translated programs, you will have a very wide audience in the 10s of millions. That may encourage multinational and regional companies to advertise on your channel, if you so wish.
I hope you will consider entering the American market and start your broadcast to this region soon.
Your Name
City, State
Your Email
