Hi :mozilla_undecided:
Intelsat 10-02 @ 1 West !!! seems to have some interesting broadcasts.
I have checked its footprint, and if I read it right, its Global foot print covers Eastern USA
I have not seen satellite positions in the USA lower than 61West
Any chances of catching it ? Thanks

no.. all the KU band transponders are Non-North America beam and mostly Europe beam. Only the C band transponders are "global" and extend to east coast of the U.S.

Besides, 1 West will need to be awfully low elevation to catch it.

I was interested in the C-Band channels from Egypt. as they have no FTA Ku channels in the USA.
The extreme "low west" position makes it difficult to foretell if an expensive investment in a C-Band antenna is a wise idea.
I still would like to hear from hobbiests that picked up lower than 60West satellites

1 degree west sounds a little low to received depends where in north america you are located here in ky. 30 degrees is about as low as you can go due to the hills. :mozilla_smile:

I live in New York State by the edge of the ocean. No mountains. Clear view all the way to Africa !
Anyone From the east cost with lower reception than 30 degrees.

you may be able to get it. go to sat site and caculate the angle and azimuth of the sat you want to get and see if you have a clear line of sight.go towww.sadoun.com under installations and you should be able to find the angles and azimuth. then use a compass and incline meter to figure it out. :mozilla_smile:
