Peak Signal Quality for Telstar5
Hi, I spent a couple of nights tweaking my dish installation to get peak signal quality for Telstar5. The highest I managed to get is 70%--actually fluctuating between 67% and 70%, with 67% more than 70%. So, I'm curious to know how high everyone else is getting?
Please indicate your location and peak signal quality if you have a chance.
I'm in VA.

Quality and Signal depend on the size of dish and your location. 60-70% quality is very decent

I live in Willmar, Minnesota.
The highest quality I was able to get was 82%.
I don't know why but for some reason the quality drops down every other day.

your quality readings depends on your receiver and transponder. you cannot just say "I have xx amount of quality on IA5" that dont mean much and it would be difficult to for someone to scale it with their's...but for example:
Pansat 2700A , tp 11991 V, location FL , quality 74
This is what i am getting.

98 % on all tps here now - with 1 meter dish (maybe 1.1 meter)
after installer came here and adjusted the install....
(98% is like 100 % here.. it doesn't go higher than 98 % at my receivers i think)

It also varies between receivers. On the same dish and same transponder I get 89% on fortec ultra. 39% on trimax. 56% on microyal. 62% on Coship.

Only 3 ways:
1) peak dish alignment
2) change to ultra high gain LNB (0.3 db or 0.4 db)
3) get a larger dish
kat
But, as long as your picture is not breaking up don't pay too much attention to the numbers, because like pictureon says, quality readings vary a lot among various receiver brands.
