FTA is Free To Air ..... let you conclude yourself
This is my first time reading the forum index and I have been seen people complaining about the of the arabic channels being on and off and the receiver does not work right and the channels are scrambled.
Is it that hard to watch the FTA arabic channels?
Why not just make it easy for us?
I want to get one, but after I saw all of these people complaining and murmurring, now I'm not sure if I should get it or no?
My question is: The FTA fortec star receiver has a software, what is the software for and what does it do?

Watching FTA Arabic Channels is very easy if you do it the right way. The complaints you were referring to are either from people who do not have any experience and they are trying to install the system themselves. or from people who changed the installation setting by mistake.
The FTA signal is much weaker than (Dishnetwork or DirectTV systems)
Now receivers are easy to operate if you do not touch the installation setting. If you would like to watch arabic TV with no problem, get a system and have a professional installer install it and program it for you. Then from time to time you will have only to scan the satellite to see if more channels are added. (Read the book)
(Intelsat5 America) provids some fta channels (Free To Air) and some Scrambled channels. Those are referred to by a Dollar sign ($) or Yellow color in most receivers. To watch these channels you will have to call the provider (Carrier) and pay to watch it. Right now there are no paid Arabic channels on that satellite. The only channel that may go scrambled is Dandana, but as of today it still free.
