Did anyone else lose the three Dubai channels?

All my other channels are OK, except for the Dubai channels (as of yesterday). Wondering if the problem is on my end or their end.

On another forum, someone made a blind search scan of IA5 and don't found the three arabic channels anywhere else (Adios Dubai Sports :mozilla_frown: ).
Yesterday was April 1st but I think it is not an april fish. It's probably an end of a contract for this channels in NA.

PLEASE DON'T CALL US ABOUT DUBAI CHANNELS.

We have no control over these channels and we don't know if or when they will be back. If you want, you can contact the Duabi TV stations or Globecast to inquire about what is going on. We got a lot of calls today about this. Sorry we can't help.

Did anybody write to Dubai TV to help explain hat happened?

Dubai city being a progressive and growing city should have given their decision to get these channels off the air more thoughts. They are trying to promote and bring people to Dubai to invest and live. The channels were nice gateways to learn about that city and what it has to offer.

I emailed Dubai TV on their website (www.dubaitv.ae). Still no response. Maybe other folks can try.

I also had the following email exchange with GlobeCast TV:

Quote:
Dear Mr. Abdalla:
Thank you for your email and interest in GlobeCast WorldTV. We sincerely appreciate your feedback.
The Dubai services you mention were never a part of the GlobeCast WorldTV service. They were FTA channels on the same satellite that carries WorldTV channels. Unfortunately, KBS ceased to broadcast them last week. GlobeCast WorldTV is constantly striving to improve our channel offerings, so check back on www.globecastwtv.com for the latest additions.

With kind regards,
Anna Porteus

Hi,

I have been enjoying the Arabic Free-To-Air stations on Telstar/IntelSat
Americas 5. I noticed as of Friday that I no longer receive the three
Dubai TV stations that were on Transponder 11898 MHz / 20 M/S. Is this
a transmission problem or have these stations been removed from your lineup?
Apparently Dubai was never part of GlobeCast. Does anyone know what KBS is?

KBS seem to me korean.... :mozilla_frown:
Like Globecast said, these 3 channels on the lyngsat site http://www.lyngsat.com/ia5.html did'n't have mention of Globecast on the top of the tp frequency when this channels were on. But now, Globecast seem to have this tp: Globecast test card but SR 20000 become 22000.

More email exchange:

Kelly Broadcasting System. This is now a part of DISH Network.
We are working to try and bring Dubai on GlobeCast WorldTV. It would help if others like you write in to ask what is happening with the channels, so please do tell your friends and family.

Hi Anna,

Thank you very much for your response. Could you tell me what KBS
stands for?

Nizar
So a ray of hope ... maybe Globecast will somehow get Dubai TV. I know that Dubai was simultaneously available on Dish Network and Telstar 5. I think Kuwait is the only other station like that. If you want to voice your own opinions about the channels Globecast carries or should carry, you can email:

info@globecastwtv.com
feedback@globecastwtv.com

Dubai channels are now FTA on Atlantic Bird 2 http://www.lyngsat.com/ab2.html

This is only available in the Eastern part of the USA and requires a second dish/LNBF/and switch.
