kamal is on a distinguished road
Testar5 is ruining my week

First time user of satellites, and I can't get my receiver to show any of the Arabic channels (or any channels for that matter). I have an 81% "signal quality" and a search of testar5 found me 18 channels, under 2 transponders.

My problem is this: Every time I try to see one of the channels it found, the system tells me that I'm trying to view a "scrambled program." I've read elsewhere in this forum that I can manually add frequencies/symbol rates and find the arabic channels that way. When I try that I get no signal at all (despite getting an 81% signal for other transponders on the same satellite!)

I've spent the last 48 hours looking at my dish and satellite and I haven't been making any progress.

My receiver is Samsung DSB-4700F; my dish is .76 m in diameter (and is oval).

Any help would be *greatly* appreciated.

Try doing a satellite scan but make sure you set it to "FTA". If all the channels you have so far are scrambled then I think you set it to "SCRAMBLED" only during the last scan.
