    How do scan to look for new channels

    I have fortec receiver and I receive arabic channels but I am missing some channels like el manar, abu dhabi and koweit. how so i scan for channels/

    You might have to enter the transponder data manually and scan that transponder. What satellite are you pointing at (I guess IA5) and what type of receiver do you have?

    I have fortec dvb 786NA and the only satttelite is programmed with this dish is telstar 5. I did search for other channels for channels but did not get far. I ma missing all bunch of channels like el manar, oman tv, abu dhabi, dubai sport, qatar and saudi. Any help???

    OK, Telstar 5 and IA 5 are the same satellite, they just renamed it.

    Most of the channels you want are on the 12,146 MHz transponder.

    You will need to enter this data on a new transponder (manual for the receiver will tell you how to do this):

    frequency = 12,146 MHz
    polarity = vertical
    symbol rate = 22,000 ksps

    Then do a scan of just this new transponder and the channels will come in for you.
