Question on adding a new channel

I have a DBS2000 Receiver. Sometimes when I enter
the frequency and SR of a new channel and do a search,
the new channel deletes exisitng channels (although they
are locked). Any suggestions on how to solve this problem ?
It seems like a problem with the TP index but I'm not sure
how to select it ?

Normally when you search only one transponder, as I think you are doing, all other channels will be left in memory. "Locking" the channels is only to lock them from being viewed; nothing to do with the scanning procedure by the receiver. Some receivers flash up a message "Delete existing channels?" before rescanning the transponder. Rescanning a transponder, or even the entire satellite, will bring in all the latest channels; so you have the most up to date channel list available. Therefore you should not be concerned if previously stored channels get deleted, because they are not being transmitted by that transponder anyway.

What brand of receiver is this anyway? BEC?
