need help with big dish

I just instaled a 6ft fortec prime focus dish with a 24in venture actuator. I'm trying to get t12 and galaxy25. when i did the dishpointer is showing two different elevation while the motor goes only east to west. I' m confused. can someone help.

In order to help you please provide us your location to determine if you can see both satellites
Telstar12 can be seen from the US east coast and atlantic.

I am in NY/CT state line. close to shore.

At that location you should get T12 with no problem.
Make sure you have your LNB correctly set to get the maximum signal quality on Ku.
