Comprehensive guide to new immigrants in Arabic

US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) decision to publish hard copies of its comprehensive guide to new immigrants in Arabic. Thirty thousand copies of the guide, entitled, “Welcome to the United States: A Guide for New Immigrants” were published. The guide was originally published in English and Spanish in 2005, with online versions available in Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Portuguese, French, and Haitian Creole.

The 64-page guide details the rights and responsibilities of permanent residents (green card holders) and provides information on how to become a US citizen. The guide also contains information on how to settle in the Unites States including obtaining a social security number, filing for tax returns, finding a place to live, getting involved with your community, and basic civics information that introduce immigrants to the US system of government and society. USCIS is a component agency of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
