the skew on AMC1 is a little wacky if you have a system with adjustable skew like on a big dish you may be able to get it not home right now will check tonight and get back to you.

If you have a motorized dish, then skew is "fixed" and unlikely to be adjusted.

I just checked, and the channel is there. I'm having a real hard time tuning it though. My dish is really out of shape from hitting it with a broom, and out of sync from getting it stuck down near the horizon. I think I need to clear all the sats off this dumb thing and start over. But anyway, yes, the channel is there, but as Rainman said, you need to offset your polarity by about 24 degrees or something like that.

What I meant Rainman is that with a motor, and the dish on the roof, it will be very hard to adjust skew for AMC1. I can't get to it......

What Rainman is referring to is that with a corotor the skew is adjustable from your chair with a remote They have small servo motors mounted on them that allow for adjustment of skew. Of course you are talking considerable more money for a corotor, servo motor and 2 lnb's than one of these small lnbf's. I believe a C/Ku corotor alone to be in the $125.00 range. lnbs vary as with the lnbf's due to a group of factors. This is big dish stuff here.

Yes I got a great deal on my first 8.5 at this house. I paid $125.00 used for the dish. Came with a corotor2, C & Ku lnbs and a 24" actuator. The corotor alone would have cost me that much.

I was able to manually scan in that channel. I guess it really is there (my bad) Only coming in at 33-40%, this is the minimium lock for a Fortec to work. Anything below that just won't appear.

I wasn't able to get a good lock using my Twinhan, however my new Mercury, locked it in fine, which is strange. I think that's the first time I've ever been able to tune a channel with one of the Fortecs, but not tune it with the Twinhan, which is connected to the passthru. I'm not sure if the Mercury has more insertion loss than the Ultra or Lifetime, or if there was something strange about that signal, or perhaps I have a bad coax? Ie the signal was jumping around between strong and almost not there on the Twinhan. I guess I'll have to wait till the snow stops to try it again.
