Amazing..
I know it's probably just me who's goofy, but sitting here watching the Colts and Chiefs play on FTA in Spanish (a language that I don't speak) and I don't find it any less enjoyable than watching it on my local NBC station.
Of course, all the usual on screen graphics are there (score, time left, quarter, and yards to go), they give the names and you can follow the emotion of the announcer....
Kinda makes me wonder how important the announcers are at all

Yeah, boy do I miss those backhauls. Seems like the stadium noise was on the 6.2 MHz audio, and the NBC or CBS announcers were on the 6.8 audio. I would often turn off the 6.8 and just listen to the 6.2. Turn it up real loud, and it was just like being live at a game. I'd pay twice what Sunday Ticke charges if they'd give us those backhauls with just the background noise.

Last football game I went to in person was before there were such things as Bengals.
I think it was back in 63 or 64. I don't think the Bengals were formed till a few years after that. I guess that was back before there were TV satellites too. I do remember being at Baseball games agains the Reds though.

Bibbler--
Your comments reminded me of an occasion about 17 years ago when I had the opportunity to be the audio engineer for a Japanese TV broadcast of a Saints game. Needless to say, I don't speak Japanese, so I was worried that I would miss a cue or something. I had no problems, though, because key English words would come through the Japanese commentary.
It's really hard to reproduce in writing (better reinacted in fake Japanese), but it went something like this:
NHK Announcer: #$%%^ ! &*^*# #$%##$! Screen pass! #$%^%###&**@! #@! %$$##**&^%$! TOUCH DOWN-O!!!!
I'll never forget that experience (not to mention my surprise that the Japanese follow the NFL). Thanks for rekindling that memory.

Hey Bibbler. Next time you get something like that check your language options. You might have an audio channel for English for the same broadcast.

I think it is the red button on the remote. Will display a list onscreen of all audio tracks for that channel.

I tried that from the Amazona's channel a couple weeks ago - The Buffalo Bills game was blacked out in this area, and it was on there.
Spanish, and the Left / Right Audio selections didnt get any English.
I turned down the TV, and listed on radio. Was kinda funny to watch everything after 5 or so second delay...

THis is where it comes in handy to have a couple old SA TIVOs. I listened to every weeks game of my team this year without listening to the network audio once. I've been listening to the Sirius radio audio. The first time I did it, I fed the video into one TIVO and the audio into another TIVO, and was prepared to delay whichever was ahead. Although I'm sure that OTA radio would be ahead, it turned out that Sirius radio was WAY behind DTV Sunday Ticket video, even when I eliminated the TIVO, which has a delay. So this year I just have the DTV video going through the TIVO, and at kickoff, I hit {PAUSE}, and wait until the Sirius radio says that the kickoff occurred, then hit play. Works perfectly. Nice to be able to listen to the much more knowledgeable radio commentators rather than the network guys who are in general terrible.

Not just the right and left. There should be a button for language. If there are multiple audio tracks for that channel they will show up there. I think it is the red button on Fortec remotes.
