American TV Here you could discuss what is available as FTA American channels on satellite. No discussion of hacking encrypted channels or know how related to that matter is allowed. Discuss only channels that have been listed publicly on lyngsat. Non-public FTA channels should be discussed in the New Finds forum only.

Galaxy 16 at 99 west - nothing

My STB calls it G4R, but, the position is 99 west.

I have manually input the TP's 11800-H-19510 for this and the others for the radio channels that Lyngsat shows as F but, I get no channels at all. I did a Full Power Scan and all I got was bleed from IA5, other than the mux on 12188-V but, it is not FTA. I would think that seeing those channels seemed to verify that I was looking at 99 west.

As I watched the receiver scan, I was getting 70%+ on 12000, 12100, 12120 and a few that I did not make specific note of, but, it did not show any channels other than those on the 12188 like CNN Airport Network.

Are the radio channels not actually FTA?

The ones at 12188 are DVB,which is mpeg2,but they are listed as scrambled. The 11800 H are listed as DC11 and mpeg2 receivers will not pick those up.You need a 4DTV to get those. Some people have reported picking up the free DC11 with other types of DC11 receivers that have been authorized before.I have a dsr410 that can pick up the music mux listed there in the clear, but I can't get anything with it off of any other satellite.

Okay. I guess I am just reading Lyngsat incorrectly. Thanks for clearing that up.
